The ensemble will appear on Saturday in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, and on Sunday in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria.

The programme for both performances includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7; Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, featuring Israeli-American virtuoso Pinchas Zukerman as the soloist; and Chaconne in memoria del Giovanni Paolo II from the Polish Requiem by Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki.

Sinfonia Varsovia will play under the baton of Zukerman during the festival, while the orchestra’s leader, Jakub Haufa, will conduct the Mozart concerto.

This year's International Music Festival of the Canary Islands runs until February 16 and includes more than 60 concerts across the archipelago's eight islands, with performances by ensembles such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, London's Philharmonia Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg, the Munich Philharmonic, Les Musiciens du Louvre, and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.
